Reaching Our Community

Picture
Tiny Pantry
Provided by the Cardboard Prophets, the Tiny Pantry is stocked with food by church and community members.  It is open 24/7 to help those in need.

                                              Thanks and Giving Sunday

Picture
On Thanks and Giving Sunday, Olivet members and friends collect canned and boxed goods for the Holt Food Bank while enjoying homemade soup and bread. Rather than having a large Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings, members and friends are encouraged to use the money they would have spent on groceries to donate food for those who can't afford to feed themselves. The following donations are needed: boxes and bags of dressing, jars of turkey gravy, Jell-O, boxed scalloped potatoes, and cranberry sauce for Christmas baskets.

Ministry Through Food Distribution

OPEN FOOD DISTRIBUTION
During the pandemic, the distribution is  a drive thru,
open for residents of all zip codes.

On the second Saturday of each month, (except May) OBC, in conjunction with the Greater Lansing Food Bank,  opens its doors to help feed the hungry in the zip codes 48910 & 48911. The food distribution is held from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. Some things to note:
  • Pre-Registration is not required. You will need to prove your residency with an ID.
  • Bring bags, boxes or laundry baskets for the food.
  • If you are not able to carry heavy boxes, volunteers are available to assist you.
  • Once the doors are open at 10 a.m., seating and coffee are available.
  • The line to enter the food distribution usually forms an hour or two early.
  • To ask questions or leave a comment, please contact the GLFB office at 517.853.7800.
